Clean Eating With Annamarie

if you are just starting your weightloss journey the first thing you need to learn is that WATER IS KEY.  Seriously, throw out all all sodas, sugar drinks, and sodas. Learn to love water. drink a gallon minimum. Sure, you will be running to the bathroom more frequently, but water is so beneficial to any weight loss program.

Now, I  always get asked..."what do I eat to lose weight"  So I will answer it, but not in the way you were probably expecting me to.
I am basicially going to tell you what NOT to eat.
Stop processed foods. If it is in the freezer section, and you have to heat it up, then its is most likely processed. those foods are filled with bad chemcials. stay away from them. Next thing, READ LABELS. If a food has high sodium, then it has lots of salt, which will obviously make your body retain more water which is not good.

You can eat foods you like but leanr to make healthier changes. FOR EXAMPLE-- If you want a burger, ask for no mayo and no cheese. Add extra vegetables. just because you are having a burger does not mean you have to have it with french fries. have it with a salad.

Not all carbs are bad. I have lost all my weight without cutting out carbs.  You can still eat things you like, its all  about portion control. Eat sweet potatoes instead of white or yellow potatoes.  Brown rice instead of white rice, and if you are going to have white rice, have a serving and do not go for more. if you are still hungry, then eat more veggies.

PROTEIN IS KEY. People have np idea how important protein is when eating healthy. It keeps you fuller longer and has so many benefits to losing weight.
protein should be the main component of your meail.

DO NOT DEPRIVE YOURSELF. I have a "cheat meal" once a week. not a cheat day, just 1 meal where I eat something that is not healthy. If you deprive yourself for months of things you like then you will end up cheating on your diet or binge eating so it is important not to deprive yourself. For example, if you are craving pizza, have a slice or 2, and a large salad. not 4 or 5 slices. limit yourself, its really just the taste you were craving. once you have it, you iwll mentally be over the craving.

EAT EVERY 2-3 HOURS. As crazy as it sounds you need to be eating often. I  eat every 2-3 hours max. Breakfast, then snack, then lunch, then snack, then dinner, then snack, In all of those snacks and meals, I make sure it contains lots of protein.
