My name is Annamarie , and I am from Trumbull, CT. I am known for being a weight loss success story because of my massive weight loss of over 180 lbs. My weight was lost naturally with no surgeries by exercise and clean eating
I was not always Obese, I did not start gaining weight until middle school and high school. After high school…my weight increased more and more each year. By 2007 I had gotten to be almost 300 lbs. I was in a horrible relationship, both verbally and physically abusive. In early 2010 I had gotten to be 400 lbs, and a size 28 in pants, and a 3XL in shirts were no longer fitting me. I was so unhappy, so angry, my life was deteriorating, and I was allowing it to.
I ate McDonalds and fast food anywhere form 7-10 times a week, and only drank soda and sugar filled juices. If it was not fried, I was not eating it. Food was my happiness. Eating was my outlet for everything spiraling out of control in my life.
The Change Started:
In spring of 2010, I was about to get on the highway after leaving work, and I had to pass a Planet fitness. I am not sure why but I pulled into the parking lot, and said to myself “I am going to sign up at the gym” (to this day I am not sure what made me do that so randomly). I went inside and signed up, and it was history from there. It became an addiction. The same way food and eating was my outlet, the Gym became my new one. After starting the gym, I looked into eating healthy. I researched recipes, snacks, what to shop for, ETC. It really is a journey of trial and error. My mind was made up. My obsession was now healthy eating and exercise, not temporary highs from sweets or greasy foods, and an abusive relationship. I gained the strength to leave the relationship, cut off useless friendships, repair important friendships and make saving my own life the most important thing to me. 4 years later, I am over 200 lbs smaller, with a whole different outlook on life. I ended up gaining a passion to allow my story to be shared to help others.
I decided to document my journey with an Instagram page (@Weightlosswithannamarie) and have gained over 70 thousand followers in the last few years. I try any way possible to inspire and motivate others with my story in hopes that they will see it is possible to lose a large amount of weight with diet and exercise. It take a lot of dedication and determination, but it is possible.
I believe that weight loss, especially major weight loss is a long term goal and journey as you battle easy losses, simple gains and work to stay the same. It ends up being a lifetime commitment.
For me, no one specific program and/or plans have helped me lose my weight.
I set my weight loss, exercise, and/or health goal and used specific training, videos, exercises, weights, devices, etc to help me achieve that individual goal.
